Philippians 3:1-11

“In addition, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord…”   Philippians 3:1 (CSB)

 1.    Paul’s problem. (2-3)

“Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts.”  Ephesians 2:11 (NLT)

 2.    Paul’s pride. (4-7)

“From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.” Acts 17:26 (CSB)

 “Peter began to speak: ‘Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism.’” Acts 10:34 (CSB)

     Pillar: Every single person on the planet matters to God.

“Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the oppressed and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9 (CSB)

 3.    Paul’s priority.

“He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” II Corinthians 5:21 (CSB)

    Pillar: In Christ, I take on a new identity and a new mission.

“My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.”  Philippians 3:10 (CSB)

“There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28 (CSB)
