Living With Joy - Part 3

Philippians 1:21-30

“For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”   Philippians 1:21 (CSB)

 TWO TRUTHS FOR FOLLOWERS OF JESUS

1.   DEATH IS GAIN.

“…Look, God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them. They will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them and will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:3-4 (CSB)

“Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.” II Corinthians 4:16-17 (CSB)

2.   TO LIVE IS CHRIST.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 (CSB)

 How?

• LIVE IN HARMONY.

“…I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel.” Philippians 1:27b (CSB)

• LIVE WITH COURAGE.

“…not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your salvation—and this is from God.” Philippians 1:28 (CSB)

• LIVE WITH SUBMISSION.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” Matthew 6:33 (CSB)
