PERSPECTIVE IN THE TRIALS OF LIFE
Living With Joy - Part 2
April 26, 2020
Philippians 1:12-20

PROPER PERSPECTIVE

1.    MY CIRCUMSTANCES. (12-14)

“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually advanced the gospel.” Philippians 1:12 (CSB)

Attitude #1: Focus less on what is happening to me. Instead, focus more on what is happening through me.

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us…” Ephesians 3:20 (ESV)

2.    MY OBSTACLES. (15-18)

“What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.” Philippians 1:18 (CSB)

 Attitude #2: I must develop a kingdom-first perspective.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” Matthew 6:33 (CSB)

3.    MY SELF. (19-20)

“Because I know this will lead to my salvation through your prayers and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:19 (CSB)

Attitude #3: Lord help me to finish well.

“My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.” Philippians 1:20 (CSB)
