BIG QUESTIONS
Part 3
August 18, 2019
Matthew 7:7-11
“Pay careful attention, then, to how you live—not as unwise people but as wise— making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 (CSB)
Thinking About God’s Will …
  *God’s will is not a feeling
  *God’s will is not a formula
  *God’s will is a fellowship
WHY PRAY? (Matthew 7: 7-11)
1. GOD ANSWERS PRAYER.
2. PRAYER BRINGS GOD INTO THE PICTURE.
3. GOD’S RESPONSE IS GOOD.
PROBLEMS WITH THE PRAY-ER
 * UNHEALTHY DOUBT
“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly…But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:5-6 (CSB)
 * UNCONFESSED SIN
“But your iniquities are separating you from your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not listen.” Isaiah 59:2 (CSB)
 * UNRESOLVED CONFLICT
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing.”
Mark 11: 25 (CSB)
