Matthew 5:13-16

We are salt and light…

(Romans 13:1-7, I Timothy 2:1-4, Acts 5:26-29)

1.   When we __________________ governing authorities.

“Let everyone submit to the governing authorities, since there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.  So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.” Romans 13:1-2 (CSB)

2.    When we _________________ governing authorities.

“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone,  for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.  This is good, and it pleases God our Savior.” I Timothy 2:1-3 (CSB)

3.    When we _________________________.

“After they brought them in, they had them stand before the Sanhedrin, and the high priest asked, ‘Didn’t we strictly order you not to teach in this name? Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.’ Peter and the apostles replied, ‘We must obey God rather than people.’” Acts 5:27-29 (CSB)

Our Mission: The _________________________

“…Jesus came near and said to them, ‘All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations…’”  Matthew 28:18-19 (CSB)
