THE RIGHT PRIORITY
The Most Important Thing- Part 3

Ephesians 5: 15-17

Discerning God’s Direction

1.    God speaks through the Bible.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness.” II Timothy 3:16-17 (CSB)

“When they say to you, ‘Inquire of the mediums and the spiritists who chirp and mutter,’ shouldn’t a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living? Go to God’s instruction and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.”
Isaiah 8:19-20 (CSB)

2.   God speaks through Godly Counsel.

“Plans fail when there is no counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” Proverbs 15:22 (CSB)

“A fool’s way is right in his own eyes, but whoever listens to counsel is wise.” Proverbs 12:15 (CSB)

“The wounds of a friend are trustworthy, but the kisses of an enemy are excessive.” Proverbs 27:6 (CSB)

3.    God speaks through the Holy Spirit.

“Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.”  I Corinthians 2:12 (CSB)

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.”  John 14:26 (CSB)

“You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you.” Isaiah 26:3 (CSB)
