SUMMER READING

“Jesus replied, " `You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.”        Matthew 22:37 (NLT)

Here are a few books that I hope will help you along in your walk with the Lord this summer:

“One Way Love” by Tullian Tchividjian
This book is a reminder of the incredible Power of the Grace of God in the Gospel of Jesus.  Tullian seems to have never gotten over the Good News that we are saved by Grace and not our performance.  If you ever struggle with being on a performance treadmill in your relationship with God, this book will remind you to embrace the one way love of the Grace of God.

“Gospel” By JD Greear
This book takes the Gospel and helps the reader learn to make it central to their everyday lives.  My favorite part of the book is “The Gospel Prayer” that helps in taking the truth of the Gospel and allow it to dig deeper in your heart and mind. I actually have the prayer in my journal as a reminder every day of this amazing message of the Gospel.”

“A Mind For God” By James Emery White
This is a book I recommend to every Christian and is a great graduation gift.  We live in a world where we are bombarded by the media through television, the internet, social media and the movies.  In the midst of the onslaught of our cultures agenda how do we maintain and develop the mind of Christ and learn to think “Christianly.”  This book is really powerful in giving inspiration and resources in developing a biblical worldview.  I hope every high school and college student will take time to read this book.  It is a great read.

“The Heart Mender”  By Andy Andrews
This is the first book I have read by Andrews.  It is an incredibly engaging and captivating story of forgiveness.  It is one of the books that you will likely want to have a block of time because you will not want to put it down.

I hope you will take time to check them out and let me know what you think.
