GOSPEL-CENTERED LIVING
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.” Romans 1: 16 (NIV)   As followers of Jesus, we are people who have embraced the Gospel.  It truly is Good News.  The Good News that God loved us so much that He sent His son, God in flesh, the second person of the trinity to come to earth and live a sinless life, that He died on the cross for our sins and He was raised to life on the third day is the best news in the world.  By embracing the Gospel, Jesus finished work by faith we receive forgiveness from the power and penalty of our sin.  THE GOSPEL IS THE BEST NEWS IN THE WORLD.

Do you realize that the Gospel is more than just a message that will help us when we die but it is the foundation of our life with Jesus now and for eternity.  It is the foundation and source of your daily walk with God.  Last year I read a book by JD Greear in which he offered a Gospel-centered prayer that I want to share with you.  It is a prayer that will help you be rooted in the Gospel daily, it will help you dig deeper into your faith and allow you to embrace more fully this incredible good news.  Here is the Gospel Prayer:  “In Christ, there is nothing I can do that would make You love me more, and nothing I have done that makes You love me less.” “Your presence and approval are all I need for everlasting joy.” “As You have been to me, so I will be to others.”  “As I pray, I’ll measure Your compassion by the cross and Your power by the resurrection.” (Gospel : Recovering The Power That Made Christanity Revolutionary by JD Greear)

I hope you will take time to soak in these biblical truths into your life.  The Gospel truths are life-changing.  My prayer is that this summer will be a time of spiritual growth and transformation for you and our church as we embrace, grow and share the Gospel.
