THE POWER OF COMPASSION
Mark: Getting to Know Jesus-Part 26
Mark 8:1-10
1. COMPASSION __________________________ (1-3)
“Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! I say, “The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him.” Lamentations 3:22-24 (CSB)
“But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth.” Psalm 86:15 (CSB)
“Shout for joy, you heavens! Earth, rejoice! Mountains break into joyful shouts! For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have compassion on His afflicted ones.” Isaiah 49:13 (CSB)
2. COMPASSION __________________________ (4-5)
“Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God” I Corinthians 1:26-28 (NLT)
3. JESUS USES _____________________________ (6-10)
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:18-19 (ESV)
“And then He told them, “You are to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.” Mark 16:15 (LB)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (ESV)
