Looking to the Future

  1.     Eyes Front

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.  Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:25-27

   2.       Keep Focused Forward at all times

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward what is ahead.  I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 3:13-14

  1. Get Rid of Distractions
  2. Forget What is behind
  3. Press on Toward the Goal to complete the Race

3.         Don’t Lose Ground in your Walk with Christ

“All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things.  And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.  Only let us live up to what we have already attained.” Philippians 3:15-16

            A. Mature Believers know they are not perfect

            B.  Make sure to live up to what you have attained

            C. The Christian Life is a Race

3 reasons you are not in the race today.

1) You’ve already finished your race

2.) You’ve stopped running

3.) You’ve never started
