Living With Joy - Part 1

Philippians 1:1-11

THREE TRUTHS TO REMEMBER

1. I HAVE BEEN SET APART.
“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will: To the faithful saints in Christ Jesus at Ephesus…I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what is the wealth of His glorious inheritance in the saints.” Ephesians 1:1, 18 (CSB)
“So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household…This grace was given to me—the least of all the saints—to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of Christ.”
Ephesians 2:19, 3:8 (CSB)

2. I HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED
“I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 (CSB)

Two Important Ideas

A. The work has to begin.

B. Am I cooperating?
“Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.” John 15:4-5 (CSB)

3. I AM TO LOVE LIKE JESUS.
“Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is love.” I Corinthians 13:13 (CSB)
