Romans 5:1-5

To be “declared” righteous means…

1.   _________________ with God. (1a)

“For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile everything to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven,by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20 (CSB)

2.    _________________ to God. (1b)

“This is according to his eternal purpose accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. In Him we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.” Ephesians 3:11-12 (CSB)

“Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (CSB)

3.    _________________ of Glory. (2)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.” I Peter 1:3-4 (CSB)

4.   __________________ in suffering (3-5)

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:3-4 (CSB)

“Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.” II Corinthians 4:16-18 (CSB)
